Sky Glass Icons:
The Prequel

Designing for a well-established brand identity is the equivalent of writing a prequel to an already well-loved book. You work within the envelope of things already known. We were asked by Sky to create a suite of Avatar images for Sky Glass — the only TV with Sky inside.

It’s possible to find themes and landing places within even the most tricky brief. Metamojis, objects, constellations, planets, plants, eyeballs, jellies, worms, figurines, alphabeteyes, body parts, heroes, villains and glass souls were all part of a thoroughly enjoyable creative arc. Where we landed was back in the world of the beautiful transparency of the glass that the Sky brand delivers so well. Would we have got there anyway? Probably, but the joy of sharing the process with a trusting client helped us all understand what could be done.
