Calming Chaos

We were invited by PLAYTYPE to take part in their continuing series, TypePlay. In which designers and visual artists from around the world contribute designs for their courtyard billboard. We were sent one of PLAYTYPE’s typefaces: Melanzane Extra Bold. With no creative restrictions, other than simply a format and a typeface.

Our TypePlay (Calming Chaos) is a typographic juxtaposition of calming words set within a spiral design that jars the eyes, intriguing the viewer to take a closer look. Displayed both in English and Danish uppercase, the design threads from the outside in, from the inside out and from left to right.
